Get in the fast lane
The 0260 Venture Competition is not your average run-of-the-mill competition. You're not going to just win some little prize. We're talking about clout. We're talking about exposure. We're talking about giving your business a jump-start. Winners receive immediate access to top venture strategists from NYU's Berkeley Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Solidea Capital, an unparalleled opportunity to collaborate with leading minds in the city - oh yeah, and a chance to pitch your business and win funding from a top-tier VC. On the spot. Now that's an upside.
Winning isn't everything. The competition will generate awareness for your business, offer contacts, resources, networking opportunities, and provide a low-risk opportunity to receive actionable feedback in a collaborative setting. While it is a competition, more importantly it's a forum to provide entrepreneurs with tools for continual improvement and ultimately, success.
The people that brought you last year's NYC ENT business plan competition are upping the ante for this year's event. We took an educational slant during last year's competition, sharing knowledge and creating connections for the benefit of our participants. This year, NYU Stern & Solidea are building on that experience to provide a more robust competition.
If you're going to race, be on the right track
The curriculum is unique and the takeaways are actionable. Solidea has extensive experience performing due diligence on emerging companies and works closely with a diverse, and promising, portfolio of clients. Semi-finalists will have the opportunity to leverage this breadth of knowledge. Finalists will be invited to two sessions that are a mix of hands-on interactive exercises and discussions with experts in various disciplines, including legal, PR, branding, and finance - all targeted in the emerging-company space.
The training gives finalists real-world insight into how the different facets of the venture community fit together, how to squeeze every drop out of limited resources, and how to avoid common barriers to success.
